Default non-op temp gauge

My 94 blazer overheated and sent the temp gauge to top of the gauge and then the needle fell back to the "off" position where it has stayed for sometime. I have already changed the sensor and the gauge still does not respond. Which component did i fry? What other components should i check and where are they located? Thanks in advance for the help.

If you pull the wire and ground it the guage should go full hot. Sounds like your wire isn't making the connection. I would check my wiring. Just overheating the engine shouldn't cause the temp gauge not to work. By the way, analog or digital gauges?
