Question Odd fluid leak????

Ok, so my '92 runs pretty decent now, and great when it warms up, but I notice in my driveway theres a big wet spot on the passenger side from the front of the engine back, and it has the same color (kinda goldish, yellow) and smell as the fluid that comes out of my tailpipe when the truck is cold, the smell reminds me of a used bandage that has just been removed from a wound, Wierd, but thats what it reminds me of, kind of a sour smell. Does not smell like gas, oil, or transmission fluid, nor coolant, and the only fluid I can think of that has that color is dirty gas, but the smell isn't there. Any clue???

The yucky condensation that collects in the AC when the drain is plugged?

A/c does not work I looked some more and i can see that its wet under the truck (difficult to see under a lowered s10, lol) theres a pan? next to the frame rail on the pass. side that looks wet and on the otherside of it it looks wet, I suspect its a mixture of coolant and water from when i changed the tstat a week or so ago, but how did it get in the tailpipe?

ok, so yesterday i was under the hood and the intake had no coolant on it, today it did, i squeeze the hose but nothing comes out, i check the gasket visually and see nothing, i run my finger around it and its wet on one side so now i gotta open the housing and make a mess again and find out why the gasket isnt holding intermittently

your talking about the gasket around your thermostat housing? You have to be sure to scrap off any old gasket really good, so you have a nice clean surface. I usually apply a thin layer of Silicone caulk to help hold it in place, so it doesnt shift when putting the housing back on. Also tighten down on the bolts nice and tight to compress everything.

Also could still be a hose. I had one rub up on the belt and only sprayed when up to temp and under pressure. Just my 2cents

i scraped the hell outta the housing and intake and applied sealant on the gasket, my dad suspects the hose, but i'm gonna check the tstat while i replace the hose.

I'll add that if the leak is coming from where you say it is, probably time to flush and refill the cooling system with a good 50/50 mix. Otherwise, you may regret it come winter time.

It could be exhaust condensation,''water in the exhaust system when the engine is cold''. It collects, then leaks out of a small opening like a pinhole or seam joint. No big deal, it will dry out when it warms up. The yellowish color comes from the rust the water picks up inside the pipe.
