I have a 89 T15 Jimmy, 4.3, VIN Z, 4wd. Ever since I have had the truck the idle just does not sound right. The truck will idle consistantly for the most part, but it sound similar to a diesel truck. It also kind of reminds me of how some of the older farm tractors sound, blah blah blah. Anybody have any sugestions in a fix? Thanks

i think what he means is that it idles normally, but it sounds like it is sputtering. that is what i took from it.
OP have you had it checked for codes. i know the light might now be on but i had mine read and it threw a couple of codes. worth a shot.
