Default Odometer KONKED

HELP MEEEEE!
ughhh... So, my odometer stopped spinning. More like, it hasn’t spun since I got this ‘94 S10 Blazer. Anyone experienced similar issue???? Other threads say it could be the odometer gears (broken or worn)... I opened up the instrument cluster and the little gears were fine... even worked when I manually spun the trip meter (the mileage went up). What else could it be?

Do you have a mechanically driven speedometer? Is the speedometer working? Then it must be the gearing.

If you don't have a mechanical speedometer and the only mechanical component is the odometer, it could be the speedometer cable from the transmission that has broken or become disconnected.

Speedometer is also mechanically driven (1994). Speedometer works tho... odometer and trip meter don’t work. But both gears appear to be in tact. Could it be the board? Or some short in the connection that’s preventing the mechanism from being powered?

I have a spare one of those that I must have obtained when I had a '92. I could look at it later to see how it works. (I'd do it now but I have a cold and am about to go to bed.) I'd also be glad to send it you for the cost of shipping if you need

If you are cable driven everything is manual no electronics involved with the speedometer/odometer - you have a worn gear not making contact .....

This is an older thread. It is ok to start a new one.

If the speedometer part is working, then there is a slipped gear in the odometer mechanism. You will likely have to remove the gauge panel no matter the solution; repairing the odometer itself or replacing the gauge cluster. It is a good opportunity to replace all of the light bulbs while it is out.
