In the old days you didn't have computers and all the other smog devices. All you needed was spark and gas. Can you plug all the stuff off and disconnect what you can and still run okay? I have a 1984 s10 blazer I bought and somebody went in and started taking off hoses, etc. and I have no idea where they all go? Thanks

Unfortunately, the computer takes an input from all the devices to make it's calculations for it's output information for fuel, timing etc...
The engine may seem to run ok with some things disconnected or plugged off, but the engine will not run efficiently and there may be other negative effects such as transmission shifting etc....

Global warming is BS. It is 8* F here. Back in the 70's they worried about the ice age.

Even in '84 the basic ECUs needed the right feedback to run the vehicle correctly. I'd say you should return the vehicle's systems to original condition. I did this with an '85 Chevy pickup. It takes a while but with a factory service manual you can do it.
