Opinions wanted
My 200k mile 91 4.3 has takin up a smoking habit. So my question is, is it more cost effective to rebuild the 4.3, or should i small block it? Lookin for most bang for my buck. Was thinking maybe a 350 out of a tahoe or something like that. What do you guys think?
Smoking is for sure a bad habit. Is it consuming oil? Leaking a head gasket?
If the motors' shot, rip it out. A 350 c.i. would be killer.
"Opinions are like assh*les, everyones got one." <------I think thats how it goes.

If you are going to have to buy a remanufactured block then go with a 350. You can use all the accessories from the 4.3 on your 350 minus the fuel delivery. You can get a set of motor mounts from Advance Adapters for $75 and put that 350 right in there with no problem and even bolt the 700R4 right up to it.
