I have a 89' s10 Blazer with a 262 and I had to replace the valve covers I have gotten the p/s replaced *note- this is when looking at the engine from outside the vehicle* I still need to replace the d/s I just want to know why the little black pieces that hold in the valves won't fit back in? so do I need to replace them or is there a trick to putting them back in?

 

the black grommets that the pcv's go in? those should be like soft rubber. over time they turn into hard plastic so yeah id replace them cause even if you get them back in they will probably still leak. if they arent hard then lots of lube
