I have an 87 K5 blazer that I bought in June. It ran good for a while. Then it started getting doggy when giving it gas. Fuel pump was replaced, as it had died. Then changed the fuel filter. The crap coming out looked like rustoleum paint, the rust colored primer kind. Also changed rear u joints, put new plugs in, and have the wires but didn't get them changed as the parts store gave me the wrong ones at first...now the beast is dead again...got really really doggy, dying, and eventually died and would not start again. Changed the fuel filter again, and it looked better, but still like light colored tea. Still wouldn't start. As long as I pour gas into the TBI, it would run....I have had several pretty good mechanics tell me it is the fuel pump relay...or maybe the throttle position sensor, or both....My pro mechanic thinks it's the fuel pump....the plugs were black, but not oil black, and smelled like gas.....the motor is supposed to have less than 10000 on a new motor, port and polished heads, shaved the heads, and some kind of cam....do I need a higher volume pump??
