i noticed my rear defrost wasnt working today so i took a look at it. i noticed that both of the struts that hold the rear window up have attatchments for connections for the rear defrost. the passanger side has no wire or any thing running to it.
is one side of the defrost grid a positive and the other side a negative?
i havent gotten to far into it to check if i am getting power to the drivers side connection yet. im guessing that the strut itself acts as a conducter for the power to flow thru?
is it possible to solder a wire from the passanger side grid to a ground or the strut?

I'm not sure about the repair, but ya, one is power and the other is ground.
It's a common break because of the opening and closing constantly twisting the wire back and forth.
If you can get some solder to stick, great.
If the terminal has come off the rod, I wonder about using something like jb weld.
