rear window(tailgate glass) button?

Default rear window(tailgate glass) button?

what exactly does this do?(i have a 94 blazer) i press it and it sounds like it unlocks it. is that what its for? if so i think the ock is sticking because it still requires the key to open

Mine does the same thing because the gate is sprung placing pressure on the glass which puts a load on the latch and the electric solenoid is not powerful enough to overcome the load.

Have someone place a little pressure on the glass while you press the unlatch button. If it unlocks then you probably have an issue of excessive load on the latch.

I'm on my third gen, blazer. A nice 93 4x4. When I would press the latch unlock it sounds as if had unlocked but it didn't. I had to use the key. I removed the access. unbloted the solenoid which pulls the latch, and moved the solenoid away from the original bolt holes about a bolt hole away. viola!
