Default Right brake light / turn signal

so I had this issue before, but thought I resolved it. I have a 94 S10 blazer, last year the right brake light would stop working sometimes. Originally thought it was a bad bulb, but after a number of replacements in short time, I determined that I thought it was the socket itself. I spiced in a replacement socket from the junk yard (just happened to be there) And I thought my problem was fixed. However today I discovered it happening again. What really bugs me about it is when its not working, if I give it a swift smack on the side of the lens it works again. Another smack and it stops. Took the sockets out of the lens, and sometimes flicking the back of the questionable socket would make it cut in and out, but sometimes not. Is it the socket again? or should I look deeper, like a broken wire? Anyone eles have this issue?

check for a good ground. If the ground is good buy a NEW socket. That should solve your problem.

I have that EXACT same problem. The bulbs burn out in a couple weeks tops. The socket looks burnt to me so I'm pretty sure that's my problem but when I went to buy one they said it was on special order so I'm still waiting. It's just the right rear. I have not had this problem with any other lights. Funny thing is, when the brake switch and the blinker fuse/relay (not sure what its called) under the dash were both broken, the brake lights were stuck on and the light worked until I fixed those two things and now it's broken again. I also got pulled over for the messed up light which is frustrating because I'm actively trying to fix it. But yes, there is someone out there with your problem if that helps. Let me know if it is indeed the socket or something else.

well for me it ended up being a bad bulb. last year when I had the problem I put in a new bulb, then when I replaced the socket, I used another socket and bulb. Now when I put the bulb back in,it caused problems. so now that bulb is thrown out and I have a brand new one in. I do however now have 2 used but working sockets, the new one that I installed game from Advanced Auto Parts, but Autozone and Pepboys both stock it also.
