Brake light/Turn Signal Wiring
My 94 Blazer has been burning through double filament bulbs for the passenger side brake light/turn signal for quite some time now. The original socket, which was visibly burned, had a green wire spliced into one of the other three wires. This green wire ran into a small hole in the frame toward the tailgate. I got a new socket and put it in but did not reconnect the green wire. The wire was tested during the installation and seemed to serve no purpose so it is now capped and all the lights are working.
Does anyone know what this green wire could be or why there is a hole in the frame there?
I usually try to not end up with extra parts after messing with the blazer.

I checked the RPO codes and if my truck had a towing package, it wasn't from the factory. I've spent a good amount of time underneath (exhaust, air shocks) and I haven't seen anything. There are a couple custom bits of wiring, though, so it's always possible.
