Should hear the pump coming from infront of rear drivers wheel, if its a left hand driver, not sure if its the same on a RHD.

there is also a valve by the distributor to put a fuel pressure testor to see if you have enough pressure if the pump does work...

Do you have fuel to your engine? You can check the valve under the hood, or remove the filter.

But I suggest just using a fuel pressure gauge under the hood to start with, it will save you a bunch of running around for nothing

I'm having a hard time finding a pic of the first gens.

I own a 99 so I think its a different location.

I did read that the smaller engines in the s10 did not have one(not the 4.3l v6).

91 may not have a Shrader valve to check fuel pressure at the TBI.

Simplest method is to remove the air filter and have somebody crank the engine. You can see the injectors spray fuel down the TBI.

WARNING: No smoking, no open lights, fire etc. you are dealing with a fine spray of gasoline. Have fire fighting equipment ready at hand and a fire-proof blanket to extinguish anything if the engine for whatever reason fires back!

Maximum 3 - 4 seconds cranking. Try 1 time for a maximum of 2 times. No spray = no fuel.
Video at time 16:00 shows starting the engine with the air filter off and shows what the spray of fuel usually looks like at idle. A penlight is useful as a light source. Again be weary of the ignitable fuel.

The guy has added an aftermarket T-piece into the feed line for the fuel pressure gauge. And at first it leaks... the reason to be assertive of the dangers of gasoline under pressure.
