My 85 S10 had extended cab and buckets in it when I got it, they were the factory seats and they just flopped forward when you needed into the back, the passenger one would fly forward when I would slam on the brakes. The ones I took from a Yukon for it had a little lever on the backside for the rear passenger to press to let them go forward and they wouldnt fly forward when I slammed on the brakes. I dont think the factory ones had that little lever on the back. I had a cavalier that they locked back on too.

Ok thats exactly what i was wanting to know. I didnt think they was suppose to. I got an 87 s10 and they dont lock. I compete in car audio competitions and one of the rules is that if the seats are supposed to lock back then they must still be able to look. Was just needing to make sure i was correct. thank you!

Yeah it's the same way in my friend's '88 S10 Blazer. The passenger seat just sort of flops forward.

They kinda have a stop but not an actual lever lock. Yet another reason to swap seats IMHO

My 84's seats are that way but I've never had a problem with them flopping forward but they aren't the most comfortable seats lol.

Seats on my 2 doors 89 S-10 Blazer do lock, and you need to push a small button on the rear of the back to have them flop forward.

My 84 Jimmy (2 door) passenger seat locks back. If you want to let someone in the back seat you lift a small lever on the bottom seat back and it then goes forward independent of the regular fore and aft mechanism.
