ive been told by lots of people that i should take my truck to a shop and have them put it on the scope and it will tell me exactly what the problem is but i dont want to spend the money and it not be right part should i do it?

 

If you mean what I think you mean, I believe you can go to your local auto parts store, say AutoZone, and they should have one you can use for free.
