Default slips out of park

tranny gets rebuilt, comes back stiff, starts to wear in and runs great. only prob is i can pull it out of park with the engine off, without stepping on the brake, turning on the acc, and the steering wheel locked. basically under any situation it will not fully engage into park. when i come to a stop i go to shift into park and i dont get that clunk into park, then with everything off i can pull the shift column into reverse and am able to then push the truck. is this linkage or something with the column, maybe an internal prob like a ?shift pin?. truck runs fine shifts ok[:'(]just i am afraid of leaving parked on any incline as u could imagine. any ideas???

Sowhat you're saying isthat if you would put it in park on a hill it would roll down? Because i can shift mine out of park with engine off and all that. A temporary solution would be using the parking brake?

If its not your shifter linkage being misadjusted its prolly internal, still got a warranty on it?

yea have not tried it on a hill yet, hence my post. but i do have the warranty and the rebuild is still fairly new. i just have been working my fingers off six days a week and cant find time to get my truck back to them.(they close at 4 and open at 9, i am 8-6). im gonna try to adjust the linkage, but my indicator is screwy/rigged? is that a problem.

I'd suck it up and take it back to the rebuilder, Rooster.

I know it's a PITA, but it's their problem to fix.
