Default Source for tailgate weather stripping

Hi All,

I have an '84 S10 that leaks at the tailgate glass. The source of the leak is at the weatherstrip, which has been cut in several places. I'd like to buy new wather stripping, but I don't see any for these older, 1st-gen Blazers. Does anyone know of a source, or whether the tailgate weather stripping from newer S10 Blazers would work? I found this stuff on eBay, but am not really certain if it will work.

Thanks!

I did, but the part that I need is grayed out and not listed in the catalog.

Well darn - the striping on ebay might be worth a try or if there is one close to your area watch the bone yards for a replacement. I have used black RTV to seal splits and even small gaps in weather striping until I found a replacement. Just fill the cut or gap and let it cure before closing every thing up

Pvc glue works great. Also good to repair tares in subwoofers. Flexible when dry.

Just a quick update on this. I bought the 1A tailgate weatherstripping that I linked to in my original post and it works great. Haven't have a drip inside since I installed it. It's slightly different in design than the original stuff, but it works and the price is reasonable.

I thought I replied to this, didn't see it so here goes again. I have a 1994 S10 and the rubber weather stripping on the rear window was torn, also on a side door. My son's Nissan had a squirrel eat up some of his wiring in the engine compartment. We bought some Perfornix liquid tape to insulate the wires after re-soldering. The liquid tape is black and sticky and thought if it stuck to the rubber I could stick the rubber back together and then add some additional coats and repair the rubber weather stripping, Worked like a charm, looks great.

I too have the same problem, I hope you’re still active on this site. The link you provided has expired so it doesn’t show. Do you happen to know which weather stripping it is for the tailgate?
