stalls under heavy acceleration
92 chevy s10 blazer, 4.3 liter, automatic. Engine runs fine before it reaches operating temperature. When it reaches operating temperature it will stall under quick acceleration, but I can accelerate it slowly and it won't stall. I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and the coolant sensor and sender. The truck won't set any codes.
What kind of air intake do you have?
On the older intake (snorkle with round air filter on top of engine intake) there is a temperature controlled flap. It is designed to suck in hot air off the exhaust manifold (hose coming off exhuast manifold and running into intake from the bottom) until it warms up. Then the flap will close and allow more fresh outside air into the intake and less exhaust manifold air. About the only way to check that is to look down the snorkle and watch the flap. Do this in the morning when its the coolest out. Is the flap stuck open, does it move as teh engine warms up?
I also doubt its your timing, unless you have messed with the distriburator at all. Well other then changing cap and rotor. The PCM pretty much controls minor timing adjustments so you don't have too.
When is the last time you serviced the EGR valve?
