Default steering column swap to tilt?

my blazer has a non tilt column in it now and i'd like to add a tilt. i've done some research and seen a few on e bay but i've had mixed reviews. the column i have now is standard and does not have cruise control. ive been told that there are different connections on a tilt column vs. a non tilt. im 6'2 290 and have a hard time getting in and out. my legs rub. i've thought about replacing the steering wheel with a smaller one but id really like to have the tilt. i've tried to figure out if there are any actuall physical differences between the 2 columns with no luck. i dont know if maybe the extra connector is for the cruise? if i dont have cruise will it matter?

has any one swapped one or have any info that might help?

You should be able to find a tilt column for your year Blazer. Just find one with the same options that you have and the connectors should match up.
I put a tilt in my '85 that has a cruise and pulse wiper switch on it. I don't have cruise or pulse on the truck, so I have 2 loose connectors and my tilt steering column.
