Tilt steering collum to loose to drive
88 Chevy K-5 Blazer has tilt steering and felt like it broke one knight. Now it is so loose when you turn the collum turns so much the engine shuts off. Any suggestion on how to fix myself? Thanks

You have to pull the steering wheel off and tighten or replace the 3 bolts that are in there. I've had that problem and put some blue loctite on the bolts. No problems since. Hope this helps.

They always tend to come loose. My old blazer was bad.

A search for "loose+tilt+column" turned up the following reply:
Not the best link, but the google advice is sound. "GM Tilt Column Repair" or "GM Tilt Column Tightening" should get you more than enough info!
Do a google search on GM tilt column and you will find a few good write ups. I had the same issue and thought about tackling this job myself but I stopped by my idependent shop and they were really familiar with the symptom and repair. Basicly, they take the column apart to get at the mounting bolts remove them add locktight and reassemble. They charged me an hours worth of labor. My column is nice and tight now.
Below is one of the links that gives the repair procedure.
