Default steering knock

Got a new problem, well it has been happening for a long time so i guess its a new one i want to fix. There is a knocking sound when it turns the corner (not engine related). It sounds like knonk, click, sound and only happens when you shift sides. (like you turn left and then right) I will jack it up tomorrow so i can look under and see, plus shocks for it are coming Thursday so it will have new shocks then too.

any way I am wondering what the clonk sound is. idler arm? or pitman arm? the steering is fine maybe off a tad and has very little play for 210k. the tie rods are in pretty good shape and little play. And its not in the actual turning of the wheel no sound when its not moving. I will also have pics tomorrow if it does not rain

Also it should be the same but changing the shocks are not too bad on these first gens right?? and this is one of the diys and any others would help thanks

ps Hey wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me on the vacuum hoses and pvc cause the engine is running 10x better. still a tad rough idle but smooth for rest of rpms.

I am going to say sway bar bushings. Mine has a loud clunk when turning because they are bad and I haven't picked up new ones yet.
