Question Temperature Gauge

Ever since I have bought the jimmy, which had 65k on it, the temperature gauge has failed to work properly. There has been a few instances that it did work, but hasn't for a long while. I have recently replaced the Temperature Sender and Thermostat, but neither fixed the problem. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

if it a one wire sensor then ground the wire, If a two wire then jump the two wires together and the gauge should jump past hot, if it doesnt then you could have an open wire or a bad gauge. if the gauge does jump past hot then you have a bad tempeature sensor.
