umm problem or just a quirk
i dont think this is that big of a problem for u guys that can lock ur doors but since my locks are so rusty they dont lock this could be a problem....the other day my friend got in my truck, without the keys, and messing around turned the ignition and it started...? we could only get it to do that once but if sumone breaks into my truck is that gonna be ther ticket to a free car? like i said it only did it once, but i wanna make sure it doesnt do it again...ideas?? thx
maybe the rust has jammed the pins of the lock in the open position, try some rust remover spray, found at most auto stores. and the ignition should have a lock pin that doesnt allow the thing to turn without the key and to lock in the key, well these pins wear down and u should probably be able to remove the key while running if so. if the rust remover doesnt help, u could always try a locksmith and see what they say. and as long as the locks work then u dont need to worry about the ignitionslock pin so much. untill then remove whatever stereos, amp, speakers u can. these are what lures a theif.
