Default Blazer quirk add on...

Many gripe about the spark plug change on the Blazer. I changed out the AC platinums for Champion copper spark plugs. My solution to the steering column spark plug was to bite the bullet, commit, and easily remove the left side motor mount bolt, jack up the engine (lightly, with a piece of wood). I placed the jack under the oil pan. The engine easily rose 2 inches and the offending steering shaft was no longer. Also, ? what's up with the '95 -'97 style passenger side mirrors. Bad design? I see they changed the design later on. Mine is still serviceable although the previous owner has glued all the internals of it to make it stay in place, I guess? I see aftermarket mirrors can be had for $29.99.

There are quite a few ways around the steering shaft from other posts on here, I don't remember all of them but a quick search should bring them up. I don't know what you mean about the mirrors, but personally I think they are seriously ugly and take away from a good looking vehicle, especially in '98 when they were redesigned in the front and inside. Don't know where you were looking for mirrors, but I picked up a brand new power driver's side with defrost for $34.99 I think on eBay. However, the glass isn't reinforced like on a stock one and has an annoying tendency to shimmy with road vibrations

There is something wrong with the '95-'97 series passenger side, side mirror. I'm no expert but noticed my particular mirror all glued up around the movable parts. At first I thought it was RTV & thought it was for water leaking but then realized the glue was holding it in place. For now, the mirror is doing its job. Other '97s I started seeing around, some had bad passenger mirror issues as well, some being duct taped. In '99 GM redesigned the mirror(s). They still look the same, but are bigger where they attach to the door. And....also, what's up with the steering wheel quirk? It's weird how different brands do different weird things. My Blazers steering wheel is in good condition, esp. for 205k miles. But, at the 12 o' clock, it's not so much worn off, but the rubber/plastic is this small patch of roughness. Nothing crazy, but like something had worn it somewhat. A non issue really, just a quirk. And, one last quirk, yes, I too think my headlights are not the brightest.
