Very Hard "Cold" Start - 1994 S10 Blazer
#11
Sorry that the EGR didn't help......in my case it really helped the idol, and performance of my Blazer. Mine still takes some time to start when cold, usually two times cranking it over and a little bump on the accelerator starts it right up when cold. Like in your situation, after it has been started, the problem goes right away. I have no smell of fuel in the oil either, but haven't checked the fuel pressure as of yet. Let us know when you figure yours out and it may help me with mine....thanks!

Just scanned it it's telling me that the intake air temp is 89 degrees and it's about 40 to 45 outside right now. Wonder if this could be the problem?
Any thoughts?

I did discover if I cycle the key and pump about five times or so, it seems to help a little better. Could be all in my head. Who knows.....but I have found out these things all have the same problems and everyone has dealt with it owning one!

Just us an update to this, I replaced the fuel pump with a Delphi and problem is solved! Fires right up now, no matter how long sitting. Idle is still a tiny bit rough, but Im very happy I dont have to crank on this think forever in the mornings. Thanks guys for all the help!

I'm glad your problem is fixed! I replaced my fuel pump as well and that solved my problem too.

I have a friend who has a 1994 Chevy Blazer S10 that worked fine last Wednesday but when he went to start it last Thursday it would crank but would not start. He has changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, ignition realy, and distributor cap, The engine will still not sart! Any Suggestions?

What is it not getting fuel or spark ? If you don't know then spray some starting fluid into the intake and try it , if it fires then its not getting feul . Its crazy to throw all your money away on parts you don't need , there are ways to test everything before you spend money .

same problem
I am having a very similar problem right now with my blazer. Starts very hard. Like takes 8-10 trys to get it to fire, and sometimes it will stall out while trying to start or I can sometimes save it by hitting the gas. I know its not the fuel filter. Haven't checked the fuel pressure, is there a way to check the egr valve without replacing it? Next up would be the pump and in the end the spider maybe, hopefully not. Not really looking to dump a lot of money into this.
