Now I'm trying to figure out the most common vehicles that these engines came out of. (Kind of want to know exactly what car this came out of). It looks like camaro's and firebirds were popular. The engine looks exactly the same as 2.8l that I've seen. Is there a vin or something printed somewhere so I could find out what car this came out of?

No VIN since that is assigned to the complete vehicle. There should be a casting number on the block, but good luck trying to use that to find out what it was in. It should have come out of a rear wheel drive vehicle like Camaro, FBird, Astro, etc.
