Interior light

Interior light
I recently replaced the driver door on my 97 Blazer with one from an S-10 pickup and now the interior light won't stay on for the 15 seconds after shutting that particular door. What do I need to replace?

Yeah the switch is on the side of the dash, has nothing to do with the door itself, so that shouldn't be causing the issue...
So you're saying that basically the interior light will come on light normal when you open the door, but the light shuts off as soon as you shut the door?
If that's the case then the door switch is indeed working. As far as the interior lighting is concerned, the truck doesn't care what kind of door you have on it, so long that when you close the door, it pushes on the pin switch, witch sends the signal to the BCM to shut the light off.
I actually was never aware that there WAS a delay of any type built into the interior or dome light circuit...

I believe the delay was only on 95-97 models. My 97 had it, but none of my other s series have had it(98,00,01)
It's possible that the bcm counts on a signal from an electrical component in the door for the delay(That your new door is missing) and without it the pressure switch is still doing it's job.
When you installed the new door did you swap your wiring harness and electronics on it? Or did you install a used door and keep the components in it?
