Default 97 Blazer starter issues

I just picked up a 97 blzer for $200, with the trans in the back seat, and the starter out of it. The flyhwheel had teeth missing, and the starter bolt broke. I was told this is due to the crank position sensor being bad and advancing the timing. Anyways to the question, When we tried to to drill out the broken bolt we ruined the threads on the block. So what is the best way to fix it, just helicoil it, drill all the way through and put a nut on the other side? Input would be much appreciated.

Yes Helicoil it!! That would be the best fix for this application. Good luck.
