Acquired the Blazer
Hey guys! I have been floating around here for awhile because my Fiance has a 00' blazer so I have been on here on occasion.
Well now its my turn to have the blazer because my car finally broke down and we will be getting her a new car because she drives the furthest to work and we all the the blazer isn't the greatest on gas!
So I now have a project to get this blazer up to par and running even stronger. What i need to know from you guys is, is it worth my time?
It has 225,000 miles, transmission was rebuilt at maybe...close to 200,000 miles? New intake manifold gasket, new shocks, new alternator...and i think thats about it.
I plan to, get a new exasust because its got a loud roar from the exsaust leaking somwhere, find out what my prolem is with the fuel system, inregardes to the CEL that has been on since...well awhile. And find out what the hard knock is in the front end when you take a turn very tight.
And find out why the brakes almost feel like they slip as you are pulling into a parking lot...sometimes.
And then the basic (well this will probably be done first) Spark plugs, wires, fluids all that stuff.
And unfortunatly its a 2wd, so as much as id like to lift it and put some nice big tires on it, i guess it would be pointless :P
Worth it?

Hard knock when turning could be a sign of bad balljoints.

Its not always when turning. Its just when i have to turn the wheel to its fullest extent, making a U-turn for example, in knocks and kinda...creeks..
If that sounds like ball joints, how easy or difficult is that to replace?

Welcome to the forums, I am more of a lurker than anything here because I frankly don't have many answers for people here.
I have the same setup as you (assuming you have 2dr). I say screw it, I am lifting it 2" and putting some Goodyear Wranger MTR tires on it, with a cowl hood and some other goodies.

Well I have the 4 door its close enough.
I did some research on the forums as far as offroading in a 2wd and there are alot of positive responces to doing so. But my bigger concern is the fact that it has 225k miles. I dont want to put the money into it and it break down 10k miles later.
