Default CV Axle Shaft Cardone Part Number??

From all the clicking coming from the left CV joint...looks like I will be replacing the half shaft (again).....did this in 2011, used Cardone 66-1311, which is supposed to be NEW no a reman.

The 60-1311 is the reman.

This left CV shaft only has 26500 miles on it and I use 4wd about once a year and that would be on a dirt road for about 2 miles. So very few miles in 4wd.

Are Cardone parts just junk?

I used a different brand on the right side, but that was in the Spring of this year so no real history with it yet.

Any recommendations on brands?

Cardone is a huge rebuilder

They are the rebuilder of Napa CV shafts and brake calipers

Possible you just got a bad one ... I think they come with a lifetime warranty

Cardone warranty on CV Half Shafts is 1 year or 18,000 miles whichever comes first.

So no good on warranty.

Think I will try complaining...or whinning to Rock Auto.

half shafts slide into front hubs and hold torque on the spindle bearings and turn all the time when the vehicle is moving . I would put it in 4WD every now and again just too change torque on the CV joints - The reman Cardone half shafts have been in my old 1984 blazer for about 80 to 100 tho miles with no problems

Yeah I would sometimes go into 4wd for 50 - 100 feet just to make sure all was still working if I got a chance.
My point I was trying to make was that I do not use 4wd much at all and this new Cardone CV shaft should have lasted for 100k miles. I have had no other problems with the front diff being locked when in 2wd or anything like that, so again there is no abnormal wear on the joint.

That joint sure "clicks" like crazy now whenever the front diff is locked....wonder if someone at Cardone forgot to put any grease in the joint.

Oh well.....nothing like having to replace a defective replacement part just after getting laid-off with job outlook very cloudy!
