What number should I see in my vin number for the 4.3 or the 2.8

question for everyone how do i figure out what motor i have by looking at the vin number?

Really..... It would be much easier to just look under the hood lol. Usually the 4 through 8 characters in the VIN tell you that type of info. For instance my 94 Jimmy has a W as the 8th character which identifies it as a Vortec 4.3L Character 4,5,6 usually tell you Body style and trim and **** like that.

Not everybody can tell a 90 degree from a 60 degree. Most of us that can already know how to tell by looking at the vin anyways. Most of the time when I stop to look at a first gen I'll look at the vin to find out if its got a 4.3 and I need to keep looking (unless I'm looking for a v8 swap) or a 2.8 and a good daily driver. Anyways
