Help Help POWER CUTS OUT STALLS (Electrical???)
1998 Blazer LT 4dr 4wd
Ok, After starting the car and when first driving the car will cut out all interior lights anddash; rpm's speedo gas volt oil all shut off;when i get to about 10 miles an hour. it happened twice. Then today Same thing happens and the truck stalls. I restart and it starts and dies three times, press gas when starting and engine didn't even rev, It did this three times and kept power. Only recent changes were sound system, Could this be from a bad amp ground? any other ideas on what could cause this? Please help need to get back and forth to work this week.
Thanks a lot in advance
Brian

RE: Help Help POWER CUTS OUT STALLS (Electrical???)
From my experience with accessories dying while driving as you described, it has been a bad alternator. The fact that it's still starting and 'kept power' as you said is a little puzzling because a bad alt wouldn't charge your battery while driving and a bad battery wouldn't start your car if it was drained or dead. Wouldn't hurt to go over your connections in the new sound system though.

While driving the volt meter ( idk how accurate it is i'll check with vom tomorrow) is around 14.2 volts. That wouldn't indicate a bad alt. Sometimes the volt meter jumps to over 14.5 tho but that shouldn't be a problem either. Battery dies to under 9 volts when car is off on volt meter too so i was assuming it wasn't the alt. I'll check the alt tomorrow.
any other ideas appreciatred
Thanks
