Ok so I just payed a mechanic hundreds of dollars to replace a fuel pressure regulator, u-joint, ABS sensor, and my stainless steel ABS line that blew in the process...

I still have to replace the Idler arm, the front right hub bearing, the MAF sensor, and an O2 sensor...

Would it save me a lot of money just doing the rest myself or should I just have the shop do it? Are any of these needed replacements especially difficult to do?

Well,first off it seems that you are paying FULL retail for this mechanic work! Which is is INSANE!-find a better shop! Anyway the idler and the hub should be done by a qualified shop as special tools are needed,and an alignment will need to be done afterwards anyway..with parts at retail-maybe $300 no more! I had the idler & pitman replaced with an alignment for $188! The MAF sensor and the O2 sensor can be done in your own garage for maybe $200 and about 2-3 hours time! Shop around!

 

another thing to do if you have a mechanic do it is buy the parts ahead of time. especially if you know what you need. mechanics mark up parts they put on vehicles. heck i know i do. it will tick off 99% of them but it will save you some money. i would look for a good local mechainic. i would say you go could do everything except the idler arm. i'm pretty sure there is an article for the wheel bearing and the maf sensor is a piece of cake.
