Outdoor Temperature Sensor

Outdoor Temperature Sensor
Simple question, but not sure if there is an easy answer. Where is the sensor for outdoor temperature? I have the display on the roof of the blazer that tells me things like mpg, direction, and temperature outdoors. Temperature is almost always at 0C except in some odd cases where it will jump to -40C and once it jumped down to -200C. When it does these jumps it will flash ICE too.
Thought if it wasn't too hard to replace I'd give it a shot.

I had the grill off quite a bit, and never saw anything that looked like a sensor.
Do you by chance have a picture of what it looks like, and a part number so I can buy one?
Did a little more searching and found the proper name, which when in rockauto revealed all kinds of sensors. Every single sensor seemed to look different. Even when at Autozone they have three different sensors for my car, all of which look different. Some part info even mentions that there may be more then one , although I think those sensors are for the climate control inside the car, which works fine.

The ambient temp sensor is located in the front of the vehicle, on the right radiator support.
I think this is what you are looking for.

For those who don't have the OEM indoor/outdoor thermometer as part of the option list, you can try a Walmart indoor therm. for less than $10.00! It is a small battery operated unit about the size of a BIC cig. lighter. For the outside temp. sensor, it has a long lead that you can run to the grill of the Blazer. Lucky, you might try one until you locate a OEM sensor replacement.

Got the new sensor. Took off the old one and realized the pins were missing in the old one. Look at the female end of the connection and there they were, jammed in and rusted . Decided since I couldn't get them out it was hammer time and whacked at them with a hammer and a leather punch real hard till they were far enough in that I could connect the new sensor. Figured it was a long shoot and put everything back together. Still read 0C .
I know what needs to be replaced so going to go to a scrap yard too cut me off a new female connector, only question is do all Blazers have these? Rather not hunt through the 20 some Blazers on the lot to find only the last one had it or something.

Went to yard (which was covered in snow) and first blazer I find has the grill already ripped off and the sensor just in the open. Took my scissors and cut off the female end and it only cost $1 .
Headed to closest parking lot with power I could use and soldered the new connector on. Of course it was a pain in the ***, the wires wouldn't twist together so ended up laying them on the grill and soldering them there with one big glob. Reconnect battery, turn on car and it said 44 F!!
Only worry was over a period of about 2 minutes it dropped down to 40 F, but it seemed to settle there.
