quest on fan belt and air pump
Hello, new to this forum I have a few questions, but before i do I have a '01 blazer lt, v6 vortec engine 4wd (think thats all the info you guys need lol)
Number 1, can someone point me in the direction if there's a how to or what not on how to replace the fan belt?
Numero 2, My truck needs a air pump replaced, its sopmething to do with the trani, located behind the driver rear tire I believe, when u heavy foot the pedal the truck's rpms will dip, fell like it stalls (only stalled twice on a heavy rainfall night) and the truck loses speed. Almost like a vaccuum leak of some sort. I need to know, one what is this called this part, 2. can it be done myself and how hard (Im pretty handy). how much $$? Mechanic's told me 500, i think i can do this myself for a lower price.
Thanks alot

RE: quest on fan belt and air pump
I believe that if you look on Autozones website, and click on repair info, you can get a watered down version on the service manual. It will show you how to replace the belt.
On the second q, I have no idea, but someone else will probably be able to help you out.

RE: quest on fan belt and air pump
According to my GM Service information DVD the secondary air pump for the 4.3L vin-W is on the lower part of the engine near the steering linkage...if you go to S10crewcab.com there is a write up about the air pump...
