Default *BAD* Transfer Case Leak, safe to drive?

I just got my transmission rebuilt last week and the mechanic forgot to put the seal between the tranny and transfer case.

Well anyways, its been leaking. BAD. Like I go to work, come out and its leak a stain in the cement with a circumference of over a foot. Overnight it will leak and the stain is a few feet wide. I work at a Valvoline so I have access to refill with ATF pretty much whenever. But just wondering how safe it is to drive with a leak this badly. The mechanic was on vacation until next Monday so I have to hold off til then. I am literally drained of all my funds from the costly rebuild so I wouldn't be able to purchase a $10 seal . Any input is helpful.

If mine was leaking that much I would not drive it at all unless going to a shop.

+1

-1 to your mechanic for not replacing that seal in the first place. It's cheap and easy to do while its apart. The shop I worked at didn't charge the extra labor for stuff like that. (within reason)

Ticks me off when people don't think about stuff like that.

Yea the only place I've been driving it is to work and back. Guy did a great job on the rebuild, it's just that one thing though, don't know how he missed it
