0-30w oil
This grade of oil is quite popular in Europe.Mobil's version isactually not 'thin' at all with a viscosity rating of 11.0 cSt @ 100*C (compared to Havoline Synthetic 5W30 rated 9.3 cSt @ 100*C). See my explanation of multi-grade oil viscosity in the 8th reply to this thread.
Neither Ford nor any other manufacturor chooses oil grades to increase mileage in any indivual vehicle. It is done to increase their CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) ratings. When you multiply the almost immeasureable increase it may bring times millions of vehicles in their production, it adds up to make their scores look better.
