'00 Bravada Hitch swap into '02 Blazer
Hello folks, new to the forum, my name is Cody, and my wife and I just purchased a 2002 Chevy S10 Blazer 4wd/4.3L/Auto from the local dealership with 67k miles on it.
Anyway, it didnt come with a trailer hitch besides the bumper which i simply do not like. June this year I plan on towing my old Datsun 510 with me to Oregon for a big car club get together. The dolly would be 600lbs and the car is 2000lbs flat.
Today I snagged the factory hitch from a 2000 Olds Bravada. It appears this replaces the bumper brackets entirely.
My question is, how does one get the black plastic step mat off, to be able to remove those upper 4 bolts holding the bumper shell to the factory brackets without destroying it?
Any other tips for installing it???
Thanks in advance!!!

If memory serves, the plastic mat pries up.
Good luck, and I hope it fits! I took the one off my 95 Blazer, to put on a 98 Jimmy, and it was like a 1/16th of an inch too narrow!!! Had to pull the bumper, and REDRILL it(after mounting the hitch on the inside of the frame on one side, and the outside of the frame on the other), because it threw the bumper holes off, just enough that the bolts wouldn't start.
