01 BLAZER PCM LOCATION
this thing was running super, had it idling in my driveway, getting ready to leave for work, all of a sudden, it just shut down, i have the code reader, so after 10 min. of cranking the enging over, i plugged in the OBDII and came up with error code p1637,"altenator l terminal circuit" icalled the dealer, who informed me its caused by a bad PCM module. 235.00 plus re-programming fee's. but i have to locate it first, as they want a core for trade in... any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks

Your computer is different than what mine looks like...
I don't want to tell you the wrong thing but from what I have read about these computer problems is that you should check all the wiring first that would indicate this problem and related to it. The OBDII system can be cryptic at times and just going by the initial code reading does not always solve the problem...sometimes what looks like a sensor computer problem could be a bad/weak connector or broken wire related to the DTC code. So I would check the altenator wiring and the wiring at the computer...before I replace the computer....but then I have time to check these things out...
thanks mark, i went thru all the wiring, under the hood. seems to be like new. the PCM , however, has some pitting in the aluminum housing. when this first happened, i checked for fire at the plugs, and found none at all, it's getting gas ok, just no spark to ignite it.
