01 blazer won't start
2001 blazer wont start, 140,000 miles V6 4x4- replaced fuel filter, dribbled gas into the air intake and still wont start, it stopped running the end of november, din't drive it for about a week but kept trying to start it, then i tried- andfired right up, then about 2-3 weeks later after driving it daily, went to start it and nothing, so we replaced the fuel filter and nothing, dribbled gas in the intake and nothing...any ideas
The fuel pump can work and not supply enough fuel pressure. These engines require either 13psi (TBI) or 60psi to start the engine. Once running it will drop 2-3psi (TBI), 8-9 psi for the rest. Just becuae it is running doesn't mean it is suppling enough fuel pressure to start the engine.
I gather the fuel pump whines for a couple seconds when you turn the ignition key.If not the problem lies elsewehere.

after we replaced the fuel filter we turned over the key and yes there is a humm (fuel pump turning on) but if you go to start is is like it is not catching, we also checked the bleeder hose at the back of the engine up by the dash and there is fuel that squirts out, where do I hook up the fuel pressure gauge to test the fuel pump pressure? thanks for your help
