02 Blazer Bad smell out of the tail pipe

Default 02 Blazer Bad smell out of the tail pipe

i have a 02 blazer and it has a bad smell out of the tail pipe, its not sweet like antifreeze. any suggestions

Smell at all like rotten eggs? I have heard a catalitc converter on its way out can make that smell.

Yep, if it smells like sulphur/rotten eggs, you probably have a burned out catalytic converter that will have to be replaced.

thats what it smells like,can that cause bad gas milage and have a surge

what would happen if i took it out and put a pipe in its place

could cause problems like that if it is restricting exhaust flow. Putting a pipe there would probably cause codes, due to the 02 sensor not reading

im getting codes 8107,3400 and 6504 I cant find anything on these codes, could that have something to do with mt cat.

What did you use to pull those codes? They don't appear to be OBD2 codes...

it was a older obd reader, i have got those codes 2 different times

All OBD2 codes will be something like poXXX.
