Default 03 blazer won’t start

I just bought an 03 blazer it ran fine for the first couple of days but then the rpm’s and oil gauge started bouncing when idling, then the steer stalling but starting back up right after. I put two batteries in it ( both brand new) and now it’s dead. I hear one click when I try to turn the key but then nothing else. The interiors lights are on as well. Any insight into where I should start looking would be much appreciated.

Get a voltmeter directly on the battery posts and tell me the voltage at rest and then repeat the reading with the ignition in the start position.

Hey George, the voltage was at 12.2 before I turn the key then it fluctuates from 12.2 to 11.9

Your battery is only 60% charged and needs to be topped off for testing:

Pull the crank fuse and measure the voltage in the two fuse sockets in turn with the meter black lead on battery ground while the ignition is in the start position.

Default Update

Hey George, sorry for the very late response I got it running again, the voltage seems fine however, it’s still idling rough randomly and the RPMS are bouncing. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the fuel because it did sit for a few months before i got it. I got it running again by cleaning the negative battery post and taking off the plastic cover over the terminal.
