bumping an older thread but to answer Fozzy; a micro switch has 2 leads, one in & one out, he probably just connected the wires together or jumped the contacts.
WHich is what I may do as I'm searching for ideas because my key got stuck in the ignition twice today. It's never done that before but now I have an idea where to look & what to do.

my micro switch has 4 wires, how would u jump it.
