1996 Blazer problems

I have a 1996 Chevy blazer 4.3 v6 automatic transmission
It wouldnt shift out of park and when it did shift out of park wouldnt shift back in the truck will not start in park and will not show on the dash that it is in park when it is IM STUMPED any help would be very appreciated

I'm assuming yours has the column mounted shifter, then. Not wanting to shift out of park is usually related to the shift interlock mechanism - to override it with a column shift, you have to cut power to that mechanism. I'll have to consult my repair manual for this process.
As for not starting now, it seems to me like the vehicle hasn't gone back into park. Have you checked the shift cable to see if it's still intact? When you did get it out of park, did you force it?
