Default 1997 blazer airbag help

I'm trying to locate the Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module on my 1997 S-10 Blazer. I looked under the LF seat and under the center console behind the shift lever, but I don't want to cut up my carpet without an idea of the location. Thank you.

The DERM is located behind the passenger side kick panel on the 96-97 s-series trucks. Check out the attached schematic.

If you disconnect the battery and wait like 30 minutes, you will disable the SIR system as well.

It should be plug-n-play. You should not have to get anything programmed.

No problem.

*Moving to 2nd Gen Tech* - Just realized this was not in the proper section.

Default 1997 airbag light

Thank you for your help, I ended up having to replace the clockspring also, but that took care of the airbag light. The vehicle got inspected.
