Default 1997 Blazer Tailgate/Window Rattle

First off I am new here and I tried searching for all posts pertaining to rattle. I did see a few on the rear window rattle and the solutions. However, I am almost certain that it is coming from the upper part of the tailgate on the passenger side (sat in the back as someone else drove the car; I noticed the sound coming from that general direction).

Of course there is nothing on the inside to make the rattle, I for a minute thought it could have been the wiper, but ruled that out. I also drove a while with the rear window open, and it still made the sound. And it is not a constant sound, it does not rattle over every bump, but just enough to annoy me.

The car is definitly a keeper. It needs absolutley nothing at all (except the oil cooler lines a few 1000 miles back). I NEED to fix this.

Any help or suggestions?

Dennis

How does the hinge look at the top? Is there play in the pins? Anything loose up there? Roof rack? 3rd brake light?

Kyle...thank you for our fast response (sorry for my slow response). I still never really figured out what was wrong...BUT...the sound is not there anymore. This has happend before, but there is no real reason it starts or stops that I can figure out.
