What would cause the wiring harness under the dash to melt. Could it be that I didn't connect the ground wire back from the motor to the body? If not, what could have caused it to melt. Head was replaced on the engine and forgot to connect the ground wire back, from the head to the body. It was ran for a short time and then the wires melted... Plz help if u can!! Thanks!!

Some of the grounds tie in to the ground points on the back of both cylinder heads so it could be possible for it to overheat the harness, but I doubt that was the cause of your problem.

Are you sure that everything was reconnected properly and that there were no crossed wires after the head was reinstalled (the ground aside)?

Where did the harness melt?
