Ill be driving down the highway (has only happened on the highway so far) and it will start to cut out. If you try to give it gas it doesnt really respond but it doesnt fully die. After about a mile of slowly cutting out at 60mph it will completely just die. I put it in park and crank it and it starts then dies immediately. Then i crank it for about 15-30 seconds and it starts and run like nothing ever happened. this has happened 3 times in the past week. It has new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and fuel filter. truck has 84000 miles on it. Does anyone have any idea what this may be. Or can you at least point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Hmmm Check the other posts on this forum relating to pressure build issues in the fuel tank(common in the summer) or else do a pressure test of the fuel delivery system to determine if the pump is at fault.Could quite possibly be an overheated module as well, but it sounds more fuel related to me-as an over heated module would usually prevent an immediate re-start.Let us know!

No it didnt start until about 12000 miles after the tune up. pressure was good at the fuel rail. I just finished doing a full tune up and used all ac delco parts today. When i took the fuel filter off it had semi thick carmel color gas coming from the engine side of the filter. Not sure what would cause that. gonna take it out on a long run tomorrow to see if it has the same problems. seems to have been running better on a short test drive. if it keeps up then i will do a pressure test over a longer period of time and see if i have problems with the pump
