Thanks, no i did'nt actually clean the starter connections, but it cranks fine, is the other stuff wired from the starter? Is there someway to clean the ignition switch if its bad or do i have to replace it?

You must Replace the Ignition Switch Wireing Harness, Your's is bad...They run about $100 bucks at advanced auto... By replacing it now you will save yourself a host of problems later...

Yesterday the dash lights came on and it died but started right up. I drove it for about 20 miles after that and about 50 miles today and it acted fine.
I'm still concerned but hope that was some type of fluke-since it has not done it since Xmas.

thanks for the replies, so Dino55 i should replace only the wireing harness not the ignition switch? Is it by the way normal that you can take your key out of the ignition with the engine running?
