Your 1998 is an S, (2WD) or T, (4WD) series and was produced with the 4.3L V6 engine through 2005.

The Trail Blazer (GMT360/370 series) has a 4.2L inline 6 cylinder engine, solid rear axle suspension, struts and rack & pinion steering in the front. Available in 2 or 4 wheel drive. The Trail Blazer SS might be what you're looking for, 6.0L V8
